'“Dr. Doyle has played an influential role of shaping my career in education and helping me become the Instructional Leader I am today.  It is evident that Dr. Doyle has very high expectations of those who work under her leadership.  However, with these expectations, also comes a high level of support”.

— Andrea Steeken, Principal Sawgrass Bay Elementary School, Lake County Schools

“As the Deputy Director for CSUSA, I've had the pleasure of working with Dr. Marilyn Doyle, focusing on two of my area's most vulnerable schools. These schools both had issues in moving the needle with achievement, and have historically teetered between a "C" and "D" school grade. Even with additional support through Title 1 staffing and increased state team support, progress was minimal. This mediocre progress was seen across all grade levels and subject areas. Our goal was to increase leadership capacity through strategic coaching, so this in turn increases teacher capacity which will result in increased student achievement and growth. Dr. Doyle introduced a structured coaching protocol as well as a standards-based instructional walkthrough tool. Using both these tool together provided a framework for how classroom walkthroughs and analyzing of data should be approached. It also provided me, a principal supervisor, with questioning techniques to coach school leaders on how to provide timely, quality feedback to teachers and how to close the feedback loop. Through this process, also gained a better understanding of the difference between system walkthroughs and instructional walkthroughs. After approximately a year of using this protocol, we saw improvement in 89% of classroom instruction and a significant increase in student growth outcomes. Both schools are projected to be a "B" school grade with our preliminary data. Working with Dr. Doyle was a wonderful experience, and her knowledge and leadership really motivated the school team and our state team to step up our game. She guides and questions in a way that leads to the desired outcome without simply directing what to do. This builds capacity and builds confidence in our leadership teams. I highly recommend Dr. Marilyn Doyle from Kaizen-ISL if you are looking to take your leadership and your team's leadership to the next level”.

— Christina Hamlin, Deputy Director, Charter Schools USA, Florida Area 5

“I have had the privilege of working with Dr. Doyle to support the improvement of our Tier 3 schools. As a curriculum specialist for CSUSA in North Carolina, this collaboration has addressed some of our low performing school concerns in teacher capacity and instructional delivery. Dr. Doyle was instrumental in supporting our networks revision of systems to support continuous improvement, as well as monitoring the effectiveness of those practices. This intentional work contributed to one school moving out of failing status and another campus being one point from a school grade of a C. Dr. Doyle's continuous reminders of being student centered raised and maintained the expectations of instructional leadership at both the school and state levels. Our team has continued implementing the structures introduced and have now empowered school leaders to develop and monitor their own systems. If your organization is looking for a thought partner to improve instructional culture and motivate you to challenge yourself as well as your teams, I highly recommend Dr. Marilyn Doyle and Kaizen-ISL!”

“It has been an honor to work alongside and learn from Dr. Doyle. My name is Georgia Waddups and I am a Curriculum Specialist with CSUSA CSUSA. Dr. Doyle provides support for three of the eleven schools I support. These three schools although unique fall into the category of tier 3 (in need of intensive intervention) or stagnant (school grade not moving or dropping). One of the schools I support has had a school grade of "C" for several years now and can't seem to get out of this category despite several efforts to do so. Dr. Doyle has helped coach and support the leaders at this school as well as myself, to truly understand what exactly Tier 1 instruction looks like, sounds like, and feels like from an environmental standpoint as well as from a teacher and student standpoint. Dr. Doyle explicitly modeled a walkthrough coaching protocol with us and the school to truly dive deep into what is going well in classrooms and immediate coaching next steps that will improve practices inside the classroom and in turn student outcomes. She has given us extra nuggets of additional strategies such as 'circle backs' and the power of in the moment feedback as well as the critical importance of closing the feedback loop. Through these coaching protocols as well as additional strategies Dr. Doyle has provided, I have observed several positive shifts in schools. Items that once seemed to the school as if they were there for compliance are now understood and implemented for their instructional impact. The way in which planning meetings, professional development sessions, PLCs, etc. have completely shifted to support teachers in understanding the content and delivery of standards/benchmarks. We are anxiously awaiting our winter benchmark data, but have already seen shifts in software data as well as formative/summative data in the classroom. Dr. Doyle has been such a blessing to our schools! Because of her coaching and guidance, we have changed the way we speak about standards-based instruction and the actions that come after these conversations. Although she is only directly working with three schools in our area, her messages, and resources have spread throughout the 11 schools I support, and coaching and teaching practices have been impacted positively. If you are looking for someone to get you out of a data downward spiral or simply need someone to knock you out of your stagnant comfort zone, I whole-heartedly recommend Dr. Marilyn Doyle with Kaizen!”
