Manatee Leadership Academy (Florida), partnered with Kaizen-ISL, LLC to earn the first B school grade in its history by bringing greater consistency to leadership and classroom practice.

Manatee Leadership Academy faced a familiar challenge: instructional practices varied across classrooms, expectations were inconsistent, and academic performance had stalled. Teachers needed a clear vision of strong instruction and dependable support to put it into practice.

The work began with modeling, feedback, and trust. Principal Jarrod Anda made instructional expectations visible, supported teachers as they tried new practices, and used evidence from classrooms to guide the next conversation. As the work became more consistent, staff could plan and act with a shared purpose.

That consistency mattered. A clearer instructional vision helped unite the team around what students should learn, what meaningful engagement should look like, and how leaders would support teachers in getting there. Rather than relying on isolated efforts, the school strengthened the daily practices that connect leadership, instruction, and student learning.

Manatee Leadership Academy moved from a C to a B school grade, earning the first B in its history. The milestone reflects the commitment of its leaders and teachers to build coherence through sustained modeling, actionable feedback, and relationships grounded in trust.
